Sharing
the Love of Jesus Christ: Providing Hope - Building
Lives
The Olympia Union Gospel Mission
began its work with the homeless and the needy in November 1995
through a street ministry outreach to 25 or 30 people per week.
Something hot to eat and drink was offered in an atmosphere
of love and acceptance. Our goal was and still is to share God's
love in practical ways.
Today, the Olympia Union Gospel
Mission has numerous programs. Hundreds of men,
women and children are served each week -- still sharing God's love in
practical ways. At the same time, we work to help individuals
break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
Meals, hygiene, and services are ways we reach out and make a
difference in people's lives and in the community.
Offering meals is one of the most powerful tools for sharing the
Gospel with people in need, because the meals and services are a
tangible expression of our love for Jesus Christ as we obey the
Great Commandment and love others as we love God and ourselves
(Luke 10:27).

Helping Change Our Society - One
Person at a Time
The Olympia Union Gospel Mission is
about people - like you and me - with one big difference the
people we work with are homeless and poverty stricken. One of
the ways every one of us are alike, regardless of our status, is our
need for dignity, self-worth and respect.
Our commitment is to respect each
person we meet and to demonstrate God's love in practical ways.
There are many reasons why people
become homeless and poor. We do not judge their reasons.
Rather, we seek to help them find ways to become godly, productive
members of our society. In order for us to accomplish this
task, many things must happen. There must be a place where
men, women, boys and girls feel safe and find they are loved and
accepted as they are.

The board members provide
leadership and direction for present and future efforts of the
Mission. Members come from a variety of professions but share a
common love for our clients and desire to perform God's will through
the Mission's activities.
