Chaplain

Jonathan Nalywaiko is the Chaplain at the Olympia Union Gospel Mission. A former Chaplain’s Assistant in Special Forces at JBLM, he brings with him ten years of ministry experience.  As staff, he is solely designated to look after the spiritual and physical needs of the clientele at the Mission.

He brings a calming presence to the Mission’s Day Center.  Since he was two years old, his father would take him to San Francisco to give sandwiches to the people on the street.  In high school he would bring his friends along to serve, so he is very comfortable around the homeless and those in crises.

As the Chaplin of the Mission, his duties will include heading up the Mission’s Church held Monday’s at 2pm and organizing a Prayer Tent on Wednesday’s and Thursdays.  He is available throughout the week and looks forward to raising the spiritual temperature of the Mission and work in the lives of people that come through the doors.

See below on how you can sign up to help with the Church and/or the Prayer Tent ministries.

PRAYER TENT

A prayer tent is a simple, yet profound way to do outreach at the Mission. It is one of the many creative ways that God gives the Church a way to bring His love and power directly to the people. What might God do if we follow Him by offering simple yet powerful prayer in this way? Other groups have seen tremendous fruit in just a few locations they have going.  Is God calling you to take a risk and do this too? We can say with confidence that if you persevere you will see the kingdom of God break in with love and power, as lives are changed, healed, and set free.

We ask for a two-hour commitment during which we will give a 20-minute briefing that will set you up for a successful Prayer Tent experience.
