Health Resource Center & Arts Walk Open House Celebration

Sunday, April 26th

After months of construction and preparation, the Mission opened its new Health Resource Center to the public on Saturday April 26, by participating in the city of Olympia’s Arts Walk. Live music, refreshments, a pottery demonstration, and photography display, were all part of the festivities. Photos on display were taken by Mission recovery and day center clients, as well as Mission staff members. Tours of the new Health Resource Center were greeted with ooh’s and aah’s over the dramatic change to a space that was once a vacant warehouse, but now boasts exam rooms, offices, a hygiene center, and a vision clinic.

Over the fall and winter months at the Mission, recovery and day center clients participated in a photography project titled “Street Art”. Classes were taught by a staff member and assignments were given. The above photo was taken by recovery client Matt Ihler. Matt calls the photo, “God vs. Man.” Disposable cameras and film processing were donated by Westside Ritz/Kitz Cameras.

THANK YOU to the following for their generous in-kind and financial donations which made our new Health Resource Center possible.
